Buchner Inc. uses PVT brand duct cleaning equipment, utilizing the patented pneumatic duct whip. The duct whip system uses compressed air and soft plastic whips to scrub the interior surfaces of your duct system clean (even the corners) and a high velocity vacuum hose to remove the dirt and debris to our vacuum trailer. There's no bulky, messy equipment to carry through your home like other less efficient duct cleaning systems. Just a vacuum hose and an air line.

Buchner Inc. also offers duct sanitizing. We use FogMaster brand misters and Azure Blue, an EPA registered duct-sanitizing agent, to sanitize the interior surfaces of your duct system. Azure Blue sanitizes on contact and is effective against Staph, E Coli, Salmonella and all vegetative bacteria. Call us today for a cleaner, healthier home tomorrow.

Duct Cleaning FAQ's

Why do air ducts need cleaning?
Air ducts are breeding grounds for bacteria and molds that cause many people to suffer from allergies or respiratory stress. Dust, mold spores, pollen, fibers, hair, paper dust and more is drawn into your HVAC system. Ninety-five (95%) of these particles pass through the air filter(s) and hide in the air handling equipment and air duct system. This build-up can reduce airflow up to fifty (50%) and can be a source of musty, stale odors.

How are the air ducts cleaned?
Equipment and tools that are designed specifically for air duct cleanings are utilized. Classic Air uses the source removal system that is recommended by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA). Using a vacuum that creates suction, the air from the duct system is pulled through vacuum removing contaminants. At the same time a high velocity air sweep is inserted into the ducts, and actually crawls from every register to the duct for the dust and other debris to be vacuumed away. All of the air ducts and the furnace get cleaned out.

How often should this be done?
The air duct system should be cleaned every three to five years. For allergy suffers, the duct system should be cleaned annually. In office buildings the duct system should be cleaned more often to prevent damaging dust from entering into computers, copiers, calculators, telephone and radio systems, typewriters and/or other office equipment causing poor quality performance or failure.

What benefits can I expect from having my air ducts cleaned?
The dust in your home is reduced greatly, odors are removed from the air ducts and the air flow is increased by as much as 50%. Heating and cooling costs will be reduced. Our customers (even ones without allergies) report they no longer wake up with stuffy heads. Allergy suffers obtain relief from sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes associated with dust and mold spores. The best thing you get out of having your ducts cleaned is that you and your family will breathe healthier, cleaner air!
